Commercial solar proposals
See the full picture. Invest with confidence.
Turn a solar quote into a clear business decision. Your First Energy proposal brings your energy use, system design and financial outlook together, so you can see what you’re investing in — and why.
For businesses in the Western Cape & Gauteng.
From energy data to a decision.
- Engineering-led system design
- Clearly explained assumptions
- Options you can compare
Inside your proposal
The detail behind
a better decision.

From your first kilowatt-hour to your long-term cash flow, we make the important questions easier to answer. Here’s what we can bring to your commercial proposal.
Your business has
its own energy rhythm.
We use your electricity bills, operating hours and available meter data to understand when you use power. Daytime, overnight, and weekend demand help shape a system around your operations.
Know what your
roof can deliver.
See the proposed equipment and estimated solar output. Where site simulation and shading reports are available, your proposal can include monthly production, system losses and a shading heatmap.
Put the investment
into perspective.
Review estimated monthly and annual savings, payback, return on investment and internal rate of return. Long-term projections show how the initial cost relates to future cash flow, with the assumptions explained.
A battery strategy
with a clear purpose.
Understand how battery capacity supports overnight use, backup or time-of-use savings. Where applicable, we model charging costs, usable capacity and discharge into higher-cost periods to assess the value.
Compare the choices.
See the trade-offs.
Compare proposed systems side by side: installed cost, estimated electricity bill, savings and payback. Explore how different solar or battery sizes, and cash or finance options, fit your priorities.
Keep everyone
on the same page.
Clear charts, an itemised bill of materials and an explanation of the methodology help your finance and operations teams review the detail.
Your proposal is tailored to your project. The analyses included depend on the system, tariff and quality of the site and consumption data available. Estimated inputs are identified.
Clarity in every calculation

Follow every
kilowatt-hour.
Your proposal distinguishes the solar you use, the energy stored and the surplus available for export. That makes it easier to understand where the value comes from.
- Direct use: Solar supplying your business as it is generated.
- Battery charging: Surplus solar sent to storage for later use.
- Residual export: Remaining energy sent to the grid, where allowed.
- Curtailed excess: Surplus that cannot be used, stored or exported.
Fixed charges stay visible.
Municipal and network charges remain in your estimated bill unless a specific tariff rule removes them.
Export has its own line.
Potential export value is shown separately from avoided electricity costs and depends on applicable tariffs, limits and approvals.
Storage savings have limits.
Savings are limited by usable discharge and the load it can serve. Extra capacity can add backup value without adding bill savings.
Room for the right questions
Explore the details. Find your best fit.
Every business balances cost, resilience and return differently. We help you understand how the choices in your proposal affect the outcome.
How do we compare system options?
We can present alternative configurations together, so you can weigh the extra capital cost against estimated savings, payback and backup needs. The assumptions behind each option stay visible during the comparison.
What if we want to finance the system?
Where finance is being considered, your proposal can compare deposits, terms, estimated instalments and the electricity bill that remains. A cash purchase is shown as a capital purchase.
Finance figures are indicative and subject to the provider’s approval and final terms.
Can you model time-of-use battery savings?
Yes, where your tariff and available usage data support it. The analysis considers when energy is bought, charging costs and losses, and how much stored energy can actually replace higher-cost grid electricity.
This helps distinguish the battery’s estimated financial benefit from its backup role.
What about tax and carbon-credit opportunities?
Where relevant, we can include optional tax-benefit scenarios and carbon-credit projections, with their assumptions and effect on the overall return identified.
These are conditional opportunities. Tax treatment requires confirmation by your tax adviser under the rules that apply to your business. Carbon revenue depends on eligibility, verification, programme terms and realised pricing; it is not guaranteed income.
Are the savings or returns guaranteed?
No. They are modelled estimates based on your usage, system design, tariffs and stated assumptions. Actual results depend on operating conditions, weather, future tariffs and how your business uses energy.
A modelled net surplus is not a guaranteed negative bill, account credit or cash payout. Any export settlement depends on the applicable rules and agreement.
A straightforward next step
From your electricity bill
to an informed decision.
- Step 01 / Share
Tell us about your site.
Start with recent electricity bills, your location, operating hours and priorities. If you have interval meter data or an existing solar system, let us know.
- Step 02 / Model
We build the picture.
We review your tariff, energy use and site information, then develop the proposed system and financial model. Any further survey or measurement needs are discussed with you.
- Step 03 / Review
Walk through the proposal.
Explore the design, compare the options and work through the assumptions with our team before deciding how to move forward.
